Raymond G. Van Diest
Arts Advocacy Award
This award is named in honor of one of Arizona's most tireless, energetic
and thorough music administrators. In his capacity with the State Department
of Education, consulting on, and leading in matters concerning music and the
other arts, he left his mark on the excellence of the arts education in the
Grand Canyon State.
"Always striving to develop advocacy in the support of the arts, it is only
fitting that his legacy be passed on to others who are following in his footsteps."
This award was presented to the Tucson Philharmonia Youth Orchestra by the Arizona
Music Educators Association in 1997. |
